RECOUNTS TEXT

• Purpose: To tell the readers what happened in the past through a sequence of events
• Text Organization :

a. Orientation (Who were involved in the story, when and where)
b. Events (tell what happened in a chronological order)
c. Evaluation (comments of the writer/speaker about the experience)
d. Re-Orientations (optional)
(The Conclusion of the experience)



PROCEDURE TEXT

• Purpose: To help us do a task or make something. They can be a set nd instructions or directions.
• Text Organization:

a. Goal (the final purpose of doing the instructions)
b. Materials (ingredients, utensils, equipment to do the instructions)
c. Steps (a set of instructions to achieve the final purpose)

DESCRIPTION TEXT

• Purpose: to describe a particular something (person, thing, place etc)
• Text Organization:

a. Identification (mention the name, occupation, profession and career)
b. Description (mention the part, quality, and characteristics nd the subject being described)

NEWS ITEM

• Purpose: To inform readers, listeners, mp viewers about newsworthy or important
• Text Organization:

a. Newsworthy events (tells the event in a summary form)
b. Background events (elaborates what happened, explainis what caused the incident)
c. Sources (comments by participants, witnesses, authorities, and experts involved in the event)
